The 40th Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show, owned and operated by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, celebrated this milestone with more events than ever before. Strong attendance, optimistic buyers and sellers, and a series of packed special events that jointly made up “SHOT Week” resulted in another top-rated SHOT Show.

The SHOT Show has grown exponentially since it started in 1979, in St. Louis. That inaugural show attracted 5,600 attendees and had 290 exhibitors covering 51,153 net square feet of exhibit space. Compare that to the 2018 show with an attendance of more than 60,000 and attracting 1,660 exhibiting companies occupying more than 645,000 net square feet of space, completing filling the Sands Expo. Taking the new, two-day Suppliers Showcase into account, more than 2,100 companies exhibited at SHOT Show this year.

Over the last 40 years, IWA OutdoorClassics has developed into a world-leading trade fair for hunting, shooting sports, equipment for outdoor activities and for civilian and official security applications.

Whether hunting accessories or personal protection: The world-leading trade fair IWA OutdoorClassics shows high-quality guns and outdoor products from international suppliers and the best-known manufacturers and members of the trade meet here.

The British Pavilion has long been established at this event and covered almost 500 sq metres. We played host to UK companies, covering products ranging from quality tweeds, ammunition, shotguns, air rifles, giftware, and antiques.

The GTA had a manned information stand, with the Director on site, to answer questions and give advice on a myriad of subjects related to the sporting firearms industry. We also provided an industry experienced translator, kitchen facilities with complimentary refreshments and a private meeting room for our Pavilion exhibitors.

As the Trade Challenge Partner working with the Department for International Trade we organise Tradeshow Access Programme grants for new and eligible exporting companies, and this year we are pleased to announce that 22 companies have benefited from this service.

Exhibition Report: The 45th edition of IWA OutdoorClassics, the world’s leading trade fair for hunting, shooting sports, outdoor activities and security, ended on a positive note after four successful days, which saw 1,558 exhibitors and almost 47,000 trade visitors from around the world meet for their annual industry highlight at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 9 to 12 March 2018.

Exhibitors from almost 60 countries and trade visitors from about 130 countries gave the 45th edition of IWA OutdoorClassics even more of an international flavour than last year. This year, eight out of ten exhibitors and almost two-thirds of the trade visitors travelled to Nuremberg from locations outside Germany.

The exhibitors praised the international background and also the high quality of the trade visitors: nine out of ten trade visitors are involved in making procurement decisions in their businesses.
